Chief’s Son 900 Standard ’25 Words’ Single Malt Whisky (700ml)

This beautifully smooth, full bodied, warm rich red whisky bears the Chief’s Son Standard whisky insignia,  It is crafted from a base and a specialty malt, including a small percentage of peated malt to impart a deep caramel flavour.  All matured in ex fortified French Oak barrels.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Citrus mainly grapefruit, Cadbury chocolate buttons, soaked raisins and caramelised figs. Toasted hazelnuts combine with a little old cola. Slightly leathery with underlying spice.

Palate: Chocolate buttons continue to melt, the oak is very balanced, fruit cake but more of a Dundee cake than Christmas cake. Strawberries and raspberries continue to develop with the sweet soft smoke.

Finish: Chocolate buttons are still there (they’ve now filled the mouth), oily and now some white pepper but plenty of sweet fruits and roasted nuts.
